Muehlenbeckia astonii, commonly known as shrubby tororaro or wiggy-wig, is a distinctive, deciduous shrub endemic to New Zealand. It is highly valued in landscaping for its architectural, "zig-zagging" wire-like branches and its extreme hardiness.
Generally grows 1.5–2.5 metres tall and can spread up to 2 metres wide.
Thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
Prefers well-drained soil; it is highly drought-tolerant once established and survives well in dry, stony, or coastal conditions.
